Patricio Barbirotto

Partner

Patricio Barbirotto is Partner at IntLaw Consortium. He advises sovereign States, international organizations and corporate clients on a broad range of matters involving international law and cross-border legal strategy.


Patricio brings extensive experience advising public and private entities on navigating challenging international legal frameworks. His practice includes the development of strategic partnerships and cooperation strategies, as well as the resolution of disputes through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, particularly in politically and legally sensitive settings. Patricio has also worked closely with humanitarian and human rights organizations, especially on matters related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. His expertise also covers the governance and regulation of emerging technologies, with a focus on international issues concerning cyber operations, artificial intelligence, and blockchain systems.


Alongside his legal practice, Patricio maintains an active academic role. His teaching portfolio includes international law, international business law, international investment law, and European Union law. He currently serves as Adjunct Professor at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and is a faculty member at the Rome Business School. He has also previously taught at Harvard University.


Patricio holds a double Ph.D., awarded summa cum laude, from Ca’ Foscari University in International Law and Astrakhan State University in Political Science and Regional Governance. He is a member of the Italian Society of International Law and the Society of International Economic Law, and serves on the editorial board of Diritto del Commercio Internazionale. Patricio fluently speaks Italian, English, Spanish, Russian and Czech.
