Patricio Barbirotto

Patricio Barbirotto is a Partner at IntLaw Consortium LLP. He has over ten years of experience advising sovereign States, international organizations, and corporate clients across a broad range of matters involving international law and cross-border legal strategy.

Patricio’s practice encompasses the design of strategic partnerships and institutional cooperation mechanisms, as well as the resolution of disputes through alternative dispute resolution in politically and legally sensitive contexts.

In this capacity, Patricio has advised more than ten sovereign States and State organs and over fifty private entities, participating in complex negotiations and in both contentious and non-contentious proceedings. He has worked closely with humanitarian and human rights organizations, particularly in the context of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Patricio's experience also includes the legal analysis of emerging technologies, with attention to international issues relating to cyber operations, artificial intelligence, and blockchain systems—areas in which he currently provides specialized advice to sovereign States and corporate clients.

Alongside his legal practice, Patricio maintains a distinguished academic profile. He has nearly a decade of teaching experience in public international law, international business law, investment arbitration, and European Union law. He currently serves as Adjunct Professor at Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia and as faculty at the Rome Business School. Furthermore, he has delivered classes and seminars at Harvard University and other leading European academic institutions.

Patricio holds a double Ph.D., awarded summa cum laude, from Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia (International Law) and Astrakhan State University (Political Science and Regional Governance). He is a member of the Italian Society of International Law and the Society of International Economic Law, and serves on the editorial board of Diritto del Commercio Internazionale. Patricio is fluent in Italian, English, Spanish, Russian, and Czech.
